Proposal

Entrepreneurs are not born, rather they become through the experiences of their lives. Through effective entrepreneurship education, people can access the skills and knowledge needed to start and grow a new business. But, entrepreneurship education does not just contribute to new business starts. communities who embrace entrepreneurship education also find that students perform better in school.

Yet despite these many benefits, few communities offer easy access to entrepreneurship education for youth or adults. Our mission is to reverse these trends and ensure that entrepreneurship training is readily available to all who want or need it through community outreach, and th e power of the internet.The show will help serve as a vehicle for introducing entrepreneurial concepts and education to an urban audience. The minority youth of today has become increasingly disenfranchised from the mainstream economy, and this in turn makes for very low levels of civic participation. Part of this disconnect occurs when young people are not recognizing and utilizing their talents to their maximum potential. This frustration has very negative outcomes throughout low-income communities, and educational efforts that focus on empowerment are much needed.

The program will feature conversations with entrepreneurs covering diverse topics such as the generation of ideas, and implementing your ideas into a business concept. The goal is to create easy-to-digest bits of information that the audience can feasibly implement in their own lives to promote entrepreneurship and a more balanced economy. The objective is to spark the entrepreneur in Latino youth by giving realistic examples of business ventures started from scratch and highlighting the steps it takes to run a business effectively.

The program/podcast will also feature experts in the fields of technology, sales, government relations, marketing, and other diverse topics of interest for those seeking to start their own enterprise. Our virtual community will serve the additional purpose of connecting viewers with resources available to anybody seeking to empower themselves and others, and take control of their economic future by embarking on business ventures.
